Purpose-built distribution boards up to 800A, designed in-house and manufactured to Australian standards. Every board is engineered to your specification, tested before dispatch and backed by our technical team.

Solution intro

You Get the Board You Specified. Nothing Less.

NAW Controls designs and manufactures custom distribution boards in-house. From single-phase sub-boards through to multi-tier 800A main switchboards for commercial and industrial projects. Every board is drawn up, reviewed and built by our own expert team.

Our in-house capability means we control quality at every stage. We work to AS/NZS 61439 and AS/NZS 3000, produce a full engineered drawings package for your approval and conduct heat rise verification before manufacture. You get the board you specified – nothing less.

From first enquiry to dispatch, our technical team is with you. Whether you’re an electrical contractor working to a spec or a switchboard builder with a non-standard requirement, we’ll engineer the right solution.

Integrated Systems Approach

Built for Operational Excellence

A distribution board is the nerve centre of your electrical installation. When it’s engineered properly, it protects your equipment, simplifies maintenance and supports your operation for decades. NAW Controls designs each board as part of a complete electrical system, not an isolated component.

NAW Controls offers a comprehensive electrical solution integrating power distribution, control and automation systems to ensure efficient, reliable and safe operation across both industrial and commercial environments.

Together, these integrated solutions create a scalable and future-ready infrastructure that supports operational excellence and sustainable energy use.

Power Distribution

Power distribution solutions are designed todeliver stable and optimised electrical supply, incorporating switchgear, protection systems and energy management to maintain continuityand minimise downtime.

Control & Automation

Control and automation solutions enable intelligent operation of equipment through advanced monitoring, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and real-time data analytics.

Variable Speed Drives

Variable speed drives (VSDs) enhance energy efficiency and process precision by regulating motor speed to match operational demand, reducing wear and power consumption.

Machine Control Systems

Machine control systems provide accurate coordination, synchronisation and performance optimisation of machinery, improving productivity and ensuring consistent output quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know About Distribution Boards

Off-the-shelf switchboards often can’t accommodate the exact circuit configuration, protection requirements or physical constraints of your project. A custom distribution board is designed around your specification – ensuring compliance, fit and long-term performance from day one. It also means cleaner documentation, easier inspections and fewer site modifications.

Yes. We design and manufacture boards for residential developments, commercial tenancies, industrial facilities and everything in between. Our team can advise on the right approach based on your application, budget and the applicable Australian standards.

Absolutely. We build switchboards for HVAC and mechanical services, residential and multi-dwelling developments, BMS integration, motor control and more. If you have a specific application in mind, our engineering team can advise on the best configuration and compliance pathway.

Cost is based on amperage rating, number of ways, type and rating of protection devices, enclosure selection, any metering or automation requirements and the complexity of the engineering drawings package. The more detail you provide upfront – spec, application, site conditions – the more accurate and competitive our quote will be.

Contact our team with your specification, drawings or project brief. We’ll review your requirements, provide a quote and agree on a production schedule. Call us on 03 9464 6555, use the enquiry form on this page or email sales@nawcontrols.com.au.

We design, engineer and manufacture in-house – so you deal with one team from brief to dispatch. Our sales team has the technical knowledge to understand your spec, not just take an order. Every board we build is backed by our own warranty and our own people. We’ve been doing this since 1990.
