Residential Switchboards
Built for Every Home

From individual homes through to large apartment buildings and multi-dwelling developments – compliant, space-efficient residential switchboards designed and built in-house to meet the demands of developers, electrical contractors and homeowners across Australia.

Solution Intro

Compliant by Design. Built for
the Site.

NAW Controls designs and manufactures residential electrical switchboards for homes, townhouses, apartment buildings and large multi-dwelling developments. Whether you need a single-phase home board or a centralised metering bank for a 200-unit tower, our in-house manufacturing team builds it to specification.

We work directly with developers, electrical contractors and project managers to understand the project layout, meter configuration and network distributor requirements before we draw a single line. The result is a switchboard that passes inspection first time and installs without complications.

From a small residential project to a large-scale development, our team has the experience and manufacturing capability to deliver on time and to budget. Lead times are agreed upfront and we keep you informed throughout the build.

Integrated Systems Approach

Built for Operational Excellence

A distribution board is the nerve centre of your electrical installation. When it’s engineered properly, it protects your equipment, simplifies maintenance and supports your operation for decades. NAW Controls designs each board as part of a complete electrical system, not an isolated component.

NAW Controls offers a comprehensive electrical solution integrating power distribution, control and automation systems to ensure efficient, reliable and safe operation across both industrial and commercial environments.

Together, these integrated solutions create a scalable and future-ready infrastructure that supports operational excellence and sustainable energy use.

Power Distribution

Power distribution solutions are designed todeliver stable and optimised electrical supply, incorporating switchgear, protection systems and energy management to maintain continuityand minimise downtime.

Control & Automation

Control and automation solutions enable intelligent operation of equipment through advanced monitoring, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and real-time data analytics.

Variable Speed Drives

Variable speed drives (VSDs) enhance energy efficiency and process precision by regulating motor speed to match operational demand, reducing wear and power consumption.

Machine Control Systems

Machine control systems provide accurate coordination, synchronisation and performance optimisation of machinery, improving productivity and ensuring consistent output quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know About Residential Electrical Switchboards

We design and build switchboards for individual homes, townhouses, units, apartment buildings and large multi-dwelling residential developments. We also supply switchboards for residential aged care facilities and build-to-rent developments. If it’s a residential application, our team can advise on the right configuration.

Yes. We regularly design switchboards to accommodate DNSP metering requirements, including centralised metering banks for multi-tenancy buildings. Our team can liaise with your metering provider and network distributor to ensure the configuration is correct before manufacture.

Yes. We design switchboards for new residential developments and for upgrade projects in existing homes and buildings. For retrofits, our team can review the existing installation and design a replacement board that works within the constraints of the current setup.

All NAW Controls residential switchboards are designed and manufactured to AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules) and AS/NZS 61439 (Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies). We supply a full compliance documentation package including engineered drawings for your approval before manufacture commences.

Space optimisation is a core part of our design process for residential switchboards. We work to your riser dimensions and configure the board layout to maximise circuit capacity within the available space – without compromising on cable access or future maintenance requirements.

Lead time depends on board complexity and volume. Standard residential switchboards typically take two to three weeks from drawing approval to dispatch. We agree on a schedule upfront and keep you updated throughout. Contact our team with your project timeline and we’ll confirm what’s achievable.
